Refund and Returns Policy

Overview

Surf Mint wants you to be stoked with every order, but if something goes wrong, this policy explains how refunds, exchanges, and returns work for our shop. Most of our products are printed on demand, so returns are handled a little differently than big-box retail.

Return window and eligibility

  • You have 30 days from the date your order is delivered to report any issues with your items (damaged, misprinted, or defective).
  • To be eligible for a return or replacement, items must be unworn, unwashed, and in the same condition you received them, with tags and original packaging where applicable.
  • Because many Surf Mint products are made to order, we generally do not accept returns for wrong size, color, or change of mind when the item was produced correctly according to your order.

Certain items are non-returnable (except where required by law):

  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable or digital products
  • Personal care or intimate items (if offered in the future)
  • Final sale or clearance items clearly marked as “Final Sale”

Defective, damaged, or wrong items

  • If your order arrives misprinted, damaged, or you receive the wrong item, contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the issue.
  • Once your claim is reviewed and approved, we will either:
  • Ship a replacement at no additional cost, or
  • Issue a refund for the affected item(s) to your original payment method.

If the problem is due to our production or fulfillment partners, we cover the cost of the replacement.

Change-of-mind and sizing issues

  • Returns or exchanges for buyer’s remorse (changed mind, wrong size, didn’t like the color, etc.) are not guaranteed because each item is produced on demand just for you.
  • At our discretion, we may offer a one-time store credit or discount instead of a refund in these situations, but this is evaluated case by case and may require you to cover return shipping.

Please check the size guides on product pages carefully before ordering, as that is the best way to avoid sizing issues.

Refunds

  • After your returned item (if required) is received and inspected, we will email you to let you know whether your refund is approved or denied.
  • If approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method; processing times vary by bank or card issuer and can take several business days to appear on your statement.

If you have not seen your refund after you receive our approval:

  • Check your bank or card account again
  • Contact your card issuer or bank to ask about posting times
  • If you still do not see the refund, reach out to us using the contact details below

Shipping and returns process

  • If a physical return is required, we will provide return instructions and the correct return address in your approval email; do not send items back to the manufacturer address on the package.
  • Unless we confirm otherwise (for example, in the case of a misprint or damaged item), you are responsible for the cost of returning your item and shipping charges are non-refundable.

For higher-value items, consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Sale items and gifts

  • Only regularly priced items are typically eligible for refunds; items marked as sale or final sale are not usually refundable unless there is a defect or error on our side.
  • If an item was marked as a gift at purchase and shipped directly to you, approved returns may be issued as store credit or a gift credit instead of a refund to the original payment method.
